Overview
Freedom is a Mobile App for public safety, it allows law enforcement personnel to communicate with 911 centers, dispatch police patrols to incidents, records check, unit-to-unit messaging, mapping and directional capabilities. This product is currently used by over 2,000 U.S. police agencies in 34 states. The Freedom App was extensively used by law enforcement during hurricane Harvey in Texas in 2017, The App allowed first responders to communicate, coordinate and rescue countless lives in flooded areas. Available for smartphones and tablets on iOS and Android devices.

The client wants a high reliable and secure product, due to the sensitive nature of the information it provides

Be able to incorporate many features from other product the agency is using
Be able to customize the product based on individual agency needs
My Role
I was the lone designer on the team, focusing on the ideation, prototyping and high-fidelity design of the product. In this role, I was responsible for:
Collaborate with product owners, development team and stakeholders
Identify product requirements (Business and user needs)
Sketching, task flow, wireframing, prototyping, iconography
Visual design, product branding, marketing collaterals
Delivery graphic assets to development teams, iterate, validate
The Challenge
The client needed a product that was highly reliable, and effective that the police officers could rely upon. The requirements where high, the user will need to be able to access sensitive data (FBI, Local and State agencies) in a secure way, be able to communicate effectively with no lag, needed to be easy to use and upgradable with new custom features, based on each agency needs.
