Overview

This Mobile App project, is a proof of concept for a product designed to protect people from contaminations due by the COVID-19 virus. There is a specific group of the population suffering from chronic diseases and other serious ailments that are in need to limit the level of exposure to the virus by limiting contact with others. The platforms aim at identifying potential locations/facilities highly crowded and notify the users of potential risks, by allowing them to make an informed decision on what to do. The mobile App will enable Geo fencing technology and other native OS sensory capabilities. 

Project goals

  • Understanding users’ needs related to protecting/preventing themself to get infected by the virus.

  • Design a mobile app that is a simple, intuitive and engaging to use.

My Role

I’m the designer on the team, focusing on all the aspects of research, visual design and testing of the product. In this role, I was responsible for:

  • All design strategy as it related to the product

  • Brainstorming and communicating design’s strategic value

  • Advocating for design best practices

  • All user researches

  • Visual design


The Challenge

The client had ambitious ideas for event discovery but an incomplete picture of who actually use the app. In order to build something users would adopt, we needed to decide who our target audience was.

User Research

I started by compiling and reviewing data from the user research. That included user interviews, surveys, and user testing.

Affinity Diagram

Used to create groups and themes from user research data as an effective way to categorize qualitative data.


Sketching

With careful consideration of our user’s needs, the sketching phase thoroughly etched out all potential iterations and possible features based on previous interviews and research. In-depth exploration and testing with the stakeholders and users during this phase is critical to the success of the product.
